Admission Requirements
Puget Sound accepts applications for fall and spring admission. For fall entry, candidates can choose from one of three application options:
- Early Decision (binding): due Nov. 15
- Early Action: due Nov. 15
- Regular Decision: due Jan. 15
Complete the Common Application, including the essay and $60 application fee, and submit your application online by the appropriate deadline. If the application fee is a significant financial burden for you and your family, we encourage you to request an application fee waiver through your counselor or college adviser.
Puget Sound has a test-optional policy. First, decide whether or not you would like to have your ACT or SAT scores submitted as part of your application. If you choose to submit your test scores, you must request to have the official score report forwarded to Puget sound directly from the testing agency.
- College Board (SAT) code: 4067
- ACT code: 4450
If you do not want to submit your test scores, you are required to submit answers to two short essay questions. Please note that scores from standardized tests (SAT or ACT and TOEFL or IELTS) are required for home-schooled students and students who attend secondary schools that do not assign grades or do not instruct primarily in English.
Financial Aid
Financial Aid Requirements
To apply for financial aid, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Designate on your FAFSA that you want your application information sent to the University of Puget Sound by including school code #003797.
The financial information you and your family provide on the FAFSA will be analyzed and used to calculate your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) — how much you and your family are expected to pay toward higher education.
Scholarships
Scholarship Requirements
All applicants are considered automatically for academic merit scholarships ranging from $13,000 to $24,000 per year.
Additional scholarships are available for students interested in music, theatre arts, studio art/art history, and forensics (debate).
Our most competitive scholarships are the Lillis Foundation Scholarship and the Matelich Scholarship, both of which cover four years of tuition, room, and board. Seperate applications are required for these scholarships.
