Admission Requirements
The Admissions process is as simple as counting to five. Follow the steps below, and you’ll be a WDT student in no time! Contact the Admissions Office at (605)718-2565 or admissions@wdt.edu if you have any questions.
1. Submit a completed free application for admissions.
2. Schedule to take the ACCUPLACER test. ACCUPLACER is a placement exam over math, English and reading. There is a $15 testing fee. The test is offered at 8 a.m. and noon Monday through Friday. The ACCUPLACER test will be waived if you have an ACT sub score of 18 or better in English, Math, and Reading, or an SAT sub score of at least 440 in Writing and Math. The scores must be no more than five years old after high school graduation.
3. School transcript or GED scores sent to the admissions office. (Additionally, an official transcript must be submitted if you have attended other post-secondary institutions or universities.)
4. Submit a certification from a licensed physical physician that you have received or are in the process of receiving the required two doses of immunization against measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR). (This is required for all on campus students.)
5. Once you receive your acceptance letter, schedule a time to register for classes.
REMEMBER…
Admissions and Financial Aid are two separate processes and each requires a different application!
To apply for Federal Financial Aid, the applicant must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA can be completed online at www.fafsa.gov. For more information please contact the Financial Aid office at 1-800-544-8765.
Please let us know if you have any questions. We look forward to helping you meet your educational goals.

Financial Aid
Financial Aid Requirements
WDT is eligible to offer Title IV federal financial assistance to students who qualify. WDT’s Federal School Code is 010170.
The WDT Financial Aid Office is dedicated to administering the U.S. Department of Education’s Title IV Financial Assistance Program in a fair, consistent, and efficient manner. We assist students in seeking funding opportunities in order to fulfill their post-secondary educational goals by providing personalized service, accurate and meaningful interpretation of federal eligibility regulations, and guidance regarding long-term financial considerations and default management.
Currently taking classes at WDT and planning to take classes at another institution and transfer them to WDT for your degree? You may be able to get financial aid from WDT for that! Complete a Consortium Agreement Request Form to get the process started.
Scholarships
Scholarship Requirements
WDT has offered more than $200,000 in scholarships for both new and continuing students. Funds are received through the generosity of familes, businesses, and organizations for qualifying students that include demonstrating financial need, studying in a specific program, and funds for minority and non-traditional students. Academic qualifications generally include earning a gpa from an average of 2.0 up to 3.75.
Applications for scholarships are posted on the WDT website at www.wdt.edu under the Financial Aid link, and are updated frequently as new scholarships become available throughout the year. Deadlines vary, however, generally fall awards have a deadline of the prior March, and spring awards have a deadline of the prior October.
Check out our online postings often for scholarship opportunities that could provide the extra funding you need to earn your degree at WDT!
